Three earn Outstanding Teacher and Employee honors

Congratulations to Mary Snyder, Curt Elledge, and Jen Rohrer, recently named Penn Manor’s Outstanding Educators and Employee for the 2024-25 school year.

Mary, a first-grade teacher at Pequea Elementary, is the Outstanding Elementary Educator. Curt, a learning support teacher at Manor Middle School, is the Outstanding Secondary Educator; and Jen, school secretary at Manor Middle, is the Outstanding Employee.

Mary has served the district for nearly 35 years, all at Pequea Elementary, and brings great enthusiasm to her classroom each day. She will be retiring at the end of this school year.

“Mary is the kind of teacher every family hopes their child has. She strives to make learning fun and purposeful, but knows that the most important attribute of a great teacher is built on impactful relationships,” said Kim Marsh, Pequea principal. “Pequea is a better place because of her and she is incredibly deserving of this recognition.”

Curt has served the district for 19 years, meeting the needs of his students and the teachers who work with them. Prior to joining Penn Manor, he worked at Lancaster-Lebanon IU 13 and at private schools.

“Mr. Elledge is an amazing teacher, colleague and mentor,” said Kristen Putt, a fellow learning support teacher at Manor. “His incredible work ethic, positive student relationships, and commitment to his students and their learning are unmatched.”

Jen is in her first year at Manor Middle, after working seven years as secretary at Eshleman Elementary School and eight years at Central Manor. Her attention to detail and organizational skills are helping principals and teachers be successful on a daily basis.

“Mrs. Rohrer is an incredible person. She always went above and beyond with her role as secretary at Eshleman Elementary,” said Eshleman teacher Aliza Becker.  “I don’t know how it was possible, but she seemed to have everyone’s backs – teachers, students, parents, and the administration. She was the glue that kept our school together.”

Jen, Curt and Mary will be honored at an upcoming school board meeting. We congratulate them on these well-deserved honors!
