Sixteen Penn Manor High School seniors are vying for the title of 2023 Homecoming King and Queen while raising money to support Penn Manor families in need.
Ava Aslanidis, Olivia Clark, Lauren Daigle, Jireh Ellis, Grace Gerner, Carolyn Hinkle, Anouk Landgraff and Ciana Suydam are vying for the title of Homecoming Queen. Jeremy Andro, Ethan Benne, Gavin Egan, Alexxander Eme, Ben Erb, Tyler Keller, Hector Rodriguez and Dhamir Wesley are the Homecoming King candidates.
The king and queen will be crowned at halftime of Penn Manor’s homecoming football game against Hempfield High School on September 29 at Millersville University’s Biemesderfer Stadium. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.
During homecoming week, Penn Manor will host Fall Fest from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 27, in the auxiliary gym. The event will include food trucks, an obstacle course, bounce house and games for all ages, including Frisbee toss, corn hole, ladder golf, football toss, disc golf and a duck pond.
The homecoming dance will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, September 30, in the high school cafeteria.
Members of this year’s homecoming court are raising money for the Loft Community Partnership, which provides clothing, food and household supplies to Penn Manor families in need. Here are details on the homecoming court.
Ava Aslanidis is the daughter of Steve and Angie Aslanidis of Millersville. Her father will be her escort at homecoming.
At Penn Manor, Ava participated in lacrosse, Civitas, National Honor Society, Link Crew and Student Ambassadors. She also participated in the Greek Orthodox Youth of America.
She plans to attend college and pursue a medical career.
Olivia Clark is the daughter of Tonya Martinez of Manor Township, who will be her homecoming escort.
At Penn Manor, she participated in Arts for All, field hockey and Civitas.
She plans to attend West Chester University to pursue a career as an elementary teacher.
Lauren Daigle is the daughter of Erin Cresse and Matthew Daigle of Millersville. Her mother will be her homecoming escort.
At Penn Manor, she participated in Mini-THON, cheerleading, Comet Nation and Link Crew.
Lauren plans to attend college and major in biology or environmental science.
Jireh Ellis is the daughter of Dayona and Garrett Ellis of Millersville. Her father will be her homecoming escort.
At Penn Manor, she was a sprinter and hurdler on the track team, class officer and member of the Attollo Scholars Program.
Jireh plans to attend college and pursue a career as a neuropsychologist.
Grace Gerner is the daughter of Mike Gerner of Millersville, who will be her homecoming escort.
At Penn Manor, she participated in field hockey, lacrosse, student council, Comet Nation, Civitas, Unified Club and the Technology Student Association. She also participated in the Millersville Community Church Youth Group.
Grace plans to attend Wingate University to play field hockey and study pre-med for a career as a physician’s assistant.
Carolyn Hinkle is the daughter of Nichole and Yon Hinkle of Millersville. Her father will be her escort.
She played soccer at Penn Manor and plans to attend the University of Buffalo to play soccer and pursue a career in nursing.
Anouk Landgraff is the daughter of Bethany and Ryan Landgraff of Washington Boro. Her father will be her escort.
At Penn Manor, she participated in girls’ soccer, Link Crew, Mini-THON, the Science Olympiad, Comet Nation, Student Council and Fit to Lead.
Anouk plans to play soccer and major in nursing at Saint Francis University.
Ciana Suydam is the daughter of Lisa and George Suydam of Conestoga. Her father will be her escort at homecoming.
At Penn Manor, she participated in lacrosse, Civitas, Mini-THON, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Link Crew and Student Ambassadors. She also participated in the Millersville Community Church Youth Group.
Ciana plans to attend Widener University to play lacrosse and study marketing and sports and event management.
Jeremy Andro is the son of Mandy Fogle of Manor Township, who will be his homecoming escort.
Jeremy is a class officer and participated in Civitas, Mini-THON, Comet Nation, Honors Chorus, Attollo, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Club, the Penn Manor Thespians and the theatre program.
He plans to attend a four-year college and pursue a career in theatre and dance.
Ethan Benne is the son of Kayla Benne-Shindle and Joe Shindle of Manor Township. His mother will be his escort.
At Penn Manor, he participated in basketball, Link Crew and Comet Nation.
Ethan plans to attend Millersville University to play basketball and study sports psychology.
Gavin Egan is the son of Pam and Jerry Egan of Millersville. His mother will be his escort.
Gavin has participated in Comet Nation and is one of this year’s Comet Boys.
After graduation, he plans to pursue internships and take business classes, with the goal of owning his own business.
Alexx Eme is the son of Lisa and Chadd Eme of Washington Boro. His mother will be his escort.
Alex plans to attend college to study film production and creative writing and pursue a career in the film industry.
Ben Erb is the son of Mary Ellen Lively and Kevin Erb of Pequea Township. His parents will be his escorts.
He participated in Comet Nation and is a Comet Boy. Ben plans to study finance at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Tyler Keller is the son of Christen and Tom Keller of Conestoga Township. His mother will be his escort.
At Penn Manor, Tyler participated in wrestling, the National Honor Society and the Youth Barbell Club. He was class president and was named a Comet Boy.
He plans to study accounting in college.
Hector Rodriguez is the son of Maritza and Hector Rodriguez, who will be his escorts at homecoming.
At Penn Manor, he was a class officer and participated in Attollo, chorus, the Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Manor Singers and the theatre program.
He plans to attend college to become a history teacher.
Dhamir Wesley is the son of Kimberlee Murray and Paul Bourne of Millersville. His mother will be his escort.
At Penn Manor, he participated in football and basketball and plans to attend Villanova University to play football and study business.
